Colorado Economic Mobility VITA

https://getaheadcolorado.org/

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Colorado Governor's Office are coordinating a two-year project to increase the number of Coloradans claiming the Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, and Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, which provide families thousands of dollars per year, and have been shown to reduce household poverty and increase family health outcomes. Central to our work are IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites, which are volunteer run and help low- and middle-income familes (including non-English speakers) file their taxes and claim these crucial tax credits. Volunteering for VITA - which doesn't require any tax background - is one of the best ways to boost the economic mobility of our communities.
